Cheeky Little Soles in Uganda!

Earlier this year contacted by an Australian TV producer Rebecca, who after returning from a trip to Africa witnesses enormous despair decided she wanted to make a difference. Rebecca started a campaign called SOCK IT TO ME, which is associated with Child's i Foundation.

Child's i Foundation has built a transitional babies home as well as a crisis and drop-in centre offering support to women in the local community in Kampala, Uganda. The common occurrence in Uganda is for abandoned babies to be institutionalised until they are 18 and the mission is to combat this. Working with different organizations in Kampala, Child's i Foundation will help with the Prevention by supporting pregnant women at high risk of abandoning their babies, care which will provide high quality and short term care to safeguard the lives of the babies and rehabilitation to place babies back into their natural family or to foster/adoptive families in Uganda.

Rebecca asked us to donate some socks, bibs (and of course shoes!) for her to take over to Uganda. And of course we were so pleased to be involved (see pictures below)

You can visit Rebecca's blog of her trip here.
